WORLD DUMBINATION
World Dumbination is a fun asymmetric strategy game for 2 – 5 players, on Kickstarter now!
The main inspiration for the game was when some world leaders argued like small children sitting in a sandpit. And that is the idea behind how the leaders are illustrated.
The story
For decades our planet has been monitored by alien species. Worried by recent events, enormous alien spaceships are sent towards earth. Announcing they come to save us from our self-inflicted fate, people rush to get onboard the spaceships. But the aliens will only let the smart people on-board, leaving the less gifted behind. Most of the leaders get in, but some didn’t make the cut, for more or less obvious reasons.
In world Dumbination you play as these five leaders left on earth; Trump, Maduro, Putin, Erdoğan and of course Kim Jong-un!
World Dumbination peace
The Peace track was in good use the latest game here at Muzak Games. North Korea and Turkey went all in to be peaceful nations, disarming 4 Nuclear bombs and ending the game with World peace! That and good luck with the Dumbness cards made North Korea win the game just before Turkey. North Korea started with the “Be most peaceful” First goal, and followed up with winning the Nobel Peace Prize, so it was probably well deserved 😉 Russia also wanted to disarm a bomb in the end, but since that card had higher number than the other Nuclear bomb cards, the game ended before Russia got anything done!
The work with the Kickstarter are going forward, but time to do a bit of marketing are also needed, so we are not able to set a launch date yet. More information will come shortly.
THE GAME
In World Dumbination you play as the five leaders left on earth after aliens has rescued the smart people to inhabit a new world in a galaxy far far away. You can choose to play as the leader of USA, Venezuela, Turkey, and Russia – or, of course, North Korea!
In the game you combine card actions with clever movement on the game board.
The cards are placed on Leaderboards that’s like your control unit. You also place a target token with the nation you will attack. Everyone flip and reveals their cards and targets at the same time. The actions are done according to numbers on the cards, which also decides the
player order for the rest of the round.
THE LEADERS
There are many leaders that could be in this game, but these are the lucky ones!
President Donald Trump
– United States of America.
Trump is the character that inspired most of the political cards in the game. He has got a giant ego, but is not too popular. Trump’s first goal is either to build an amazing wall on the Mexican border, or win the next election, maybe with some help from his friends!
President Nicolas Maduro
– Venezuela.
Maduro sits on the world’s largest oil resources, but with him as a leader Venezuela is close to bankruptcy. A leader who suggest that his people should breed rabbits so they don’t starve, just have to take part in this game! Maduro’s first goal in is merely to remain in power, or make his crypto oil currency work.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan – Turkey.
When Erdoğan tore the theory of evolution from school books in Turkey, he easily qualified to be one of the characters in this game. His first goal is to become a successful dictator, or “join” the European Union!
President Vladimir Putin
– Russia.
Putin sits on his rocking horse, not completely happy with the circumstances. His first goal is to be back in the U.S.S.R, or have the strongest Cyber attack group!
Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un – North Korea.
The leader of North Korea has quite the split personality. His first goal is either to make North Korea a fearsome Nuclear Power, or to be the most peaceful leader!
DESIGNERS BLOG – 1 YEAR UPDATE!
The last alien Jimi (that was out partying when the last spaceship left) is a big fan of the music from the 70s. But the question is if the alien hair style was inspired by rock stars from the 70s, or was the rock stars in the 70s inspired by the hair style of the aliens…
It is today one year ago since I started developing the World Dumbination game. I had the idea for the theme and story of the game when I was trying to go to bed early to get some sleep. I had to wake up 4 in the night to traveling all the way to Ecuador, where I was competing in the Paragliding World Cup. Instead of sleeping I started thinking of world politics and leaders that acted like small children. This was when Donald Trump and Kim Un-Jong argued of which one that had the biggest nuclear button, and many more things was happening. I thought someone should make a fun board game about this situation. I quickly understood that this should be me when the game title World Dumbination suddenly appeared in my head. I also got the idea to how these leaders could be the only leaders left on earth, making up a story where aliens travel to earth to “rescue” the “smart” people from the unavoidable future of our planet…
